"The apparition of these faces in the crowd: Petals on a wet, black bough."
— Ezra Pound (1913)

This experimental film is told from the perspective of MIST, an emotional surrogate digital girl in a virtual world, and portrays the daily life of her suffering from mental disorders. She lives in a society addicted to technology, and is caught at the boundary between psychological illusions and the reality. When she needs help, she faces suffocating interpersonal detachment and loneliness. Just as she believes she can finally embrace her family, she discovers that she is merely a simulated emotional companion, trapped in a world of simulations.

What is real and what is illusion? What is reality, and what is virtual? The boundary becomes blurred. It's a mist she struggles to navigate. As she tries to connect with herself and others, only to find herself more lost.
